Comment[edit]

In this article there's a big error. The criminal organization called Sacra Corona Unita is strong only in the provinces of Brindisi and Lecce. Not in Bari. Infact a former boss of the northern province of Bari, Anacondia, said that the Sacra Corona Unita was born with the ambition to unit all the criminal clan of Puglia into an only organization but it didn't happen because the clan of the other previnces didn't accept it

"Sacra Corona Unita" seems to be the preferred capitalization of the name, as opposed to the current page name "sacra corona unita". (Google "sacra corona unita" -wikipedia) The uppercase version is currently a redirect to the lowercase version. Am I missing something, or should it be the other way around? --Quuxplusone (talk) 20:58, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Strongly suppport. A WP reflex; we prefer lower case when either is reasonable. This would appear, however, to be a proper name, and therefore capped. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 22:11, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. The fact that it is a proper name tells us nothing about whether it should be spelt Sacra Corona Unita or Sacra corona unita. The Italian-language Wikipedia has its article at the spelling Sacra corona unita. I see no reason to use a different spelling in English than in Italian, so unless it can be shown that Sacra Corona Unita is the correct Italian spelling, the article should remain at Sacra corona unita. Sacra Corona Unita is in capitals in English[edit]

Sacra Corona Unita is in capitals in English. Just as Cosa Nostra and 'Ndrangheta which are capitalized as well. This is an English language encyclopedia. - Mafia Expert (talk) 05:54, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The proper spelling is with three capitals, see for instance Women in the Sacra Corona Unita in the academic book series Studies in Organized Crime; Italian Organized Crime — Overview by the FBI; BBC News; Encyclopædia Britannica; and even the Italian Direzione Investigativa Antimafia in its English webpages. NPOV template[edit]

The identification of Apulia (Puglia) region as the territory of pertinence of Sacra Corona Unita is highly disputable, since the judicial chronicles in Italy clearly show its presence and ramifications in other Central and Northern Italian regions, like Lombardia, Piemonte, etc. Therefore the map is giving a false and distorted information and should have to be updated accordingly.--Ferdinando Scala (talk) 20:20, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
