Opening comment[edit]

reasons for hangon importance:
-worldwide operation,
-strongly connected to scientific fields covered in wikipedia respirometry and the respective community (this being an area were wikipedia is actually used by students totally new to the field,
-mentioned in article for long time (and not by me),
-a few similar companies should also be covered

however: points for lack of importance:
-small,
-not "popular culture" but "scientific culture" therefore small minority interest

so also good arguments for deletion, please go ahead as you feel right (saves me a lot of time with the similar ones). greetings and thanks for your comment faramir 20:49, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

I'm willing to give it a chance, but I've tagged the article as "unreferenced" instead. Please add some independent third party references to support notability; the article can still be deleted if this isn't done within a reasonable timeframe. Bearcat (talk) 22:43, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I added a citation from a book but the ultimate independent third party reference for the statement 'they produce this equipment and it is used by scientist' is of course the primary literature. In their case this amounts to 1040 citations as just checked by Google Scholar. On way out out could be to add just one citation from a very high reputation journal. In this case 'G.S.B. Suh, A.M. Wong, A.C. Hergarden, J.W. Wang, A.F. Simon, S. Benzer, R. Axel, D. Anderson, 'A single population of olfactory sensory neurons mediates an innate avoidance behavior in Drosophila', Nature 431 (2004): 854-859.' would be a good candidate but it does not really say anything more than the others (we did this measurements using the instrument from that company). It is only in a more famous journal. So, I dont know. What do you think?
