Köln or Cöln explanation[edit]

I think that as an encyclopedia article, this should include some explanation of the two alternative names in use, especially since the German article is named de:SMS Cöln (1916). Rcbutcher (talk) 10:30, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This spelling change seems to date from 1919[1], so these two ships would have been known as SMS Cöln in their lifetimes. There should probably be a mention of this on the disambiguation page and/or individual ship pages. Drutt (talk) 12:07, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
