Player nicknames[edit]

[This really regards the individual player articles, but I raise the issue here instead]]

I think we should only list the player nicknames in those cases were the nicknames are well established. While I agree with "Kalven", "örn 1", "Örn 2", even "skjønningen", haha, I don't agree with "Arne" (Monkam), "Kenguruen" or "Ragnvaldho". I'm removing those. --Kvaks 06:50, 13 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

GA Review.[edit]

I can't pass this under the GA criteria at this time. The lead needs to be expanded per WP:LEAD, plus there needs to be references.--Wizardman 21:42, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Overview[edit]

"Brann is historically arguably the biggest club in Norway in terms of public interest"

How can this be when there are clubs with a higher average attendance than Brann —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.241.61.253 (talk) 14:00, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Although I'm uncertain about the truth of this statement, it's been known for years that Brann stadion is too small compared to the public interest in the team - some argue that the stadium could be expanded to a capacity of almost 25,000 and still almost fill it up every game. You can't compare the public interest in a club only by looking at the average attendance number. --Aqwis (talk) 15:24, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That may well be true, but I can't find any sources backing up the statement that Brann is by far the most popular club in Norway. 129.241.61.253 (talk) 12:30, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that the statement was pov and unverifiable and has changed it. Rettetast (talk) 15:38, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Brann had the highest season average attendance record from 1963 to 2003, when the record was beaten by another big club, Rosenborg. The last years, a number of clubs have updated their stadium or built a new one, while economic and fundamental issues made Brann stadium small in comparison to Rosenborg's stadium, Lerkendal, and others. With the updating of Brann stadium from 17 890 to almost 24 000 from 2006 to 2010, Brann may take back the record during the 2010-decade. Elev77 (talk) 22:14, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You mean each and every year in the period 1963-2003? If so, I doubt that very much. --Kvaks (talk) 07:18, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
His point is that before Rosenborg had 15,825 per match in 2003, no other norwegian club could match Brann's season average attendance from 1963 with 15,486 per match. Mentoz86 (talk) 14:05, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

I see no reason whatsoever for SK Brann 2008 to merged into SK Brann. Brandenburg (talk) 18:37, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, although it could do with a change of name. Perhaps SK Brann season 2008 would be more appropriate. – PeeJay 11:34, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the merge tags. No argument for merging has been presented. Rettetast (talk) 14:47, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
