Skyline Photo[edit]

I don't want to be self-serving, and I appreciate the additional photos from Thisisbossi for the article. That said, I don't think the new "skyline" photo in the info-box is an improvement. I thought there was already too much road and too little landscape and building profile in the photo I had added. The new one, though, doesn't seem to show anything but road. What do other people think? HDow (talk) 22:48, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ahh, didn't notice that the parameter is explicitly looking for a skyline photo. I agree that yours shows more of skyline, so I've swapped your photo back in. One problem is that because it's pretty much just a typical residential subdivision: Russett doesn't really have a skyline to begin with -- it's actually a bit of a stretch for the neighborhood to have its own article in the first place. It's tough to get a good skyline photo from within the community -- a good angle may be from the Savage MARC area along Brock Bridge Road, looking south across Konterra's Annapolis Junction property. I think that's at a higher elevation where you can at least see a couple rooftops and chimneys among the trees, and some lightning shines through the trees at night. My only issue with your photo is the bit of car showing on the bottom-right corner. That could probably be cropped out without impacting the photo too much. --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 23:02, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
