Clarification[edit]

Russel's birthday has never been officially stated to be 1975. To infer his birth year from ages that have been given (in fact his age was only ever given in the first Gorillaz biography) is incorrect, seeing as not all the Gorillaz character age uniformly. E.g. Noodle, officially stated to be 10 in 2000, and now 14 in 2006. Therefore I have edited the page to take out the date.

Since the gorillaz is supposedly a fictional band composed of entirely (at least I think) fictional characters; It is my belief that information should be included about the people behind the scene of the Gorrilaz; purely for clarical reasons.

And more about what is known of the special effects of the Gorrilaz, the members of the Gorillaz need not be respected as real people.

The artists behind the members, and their names, if available would be nice.

In short; more clarical information.

Please read the article Gorillaz, it clarifies what you ask for. It's hard to pin each member to a real-life person-the only member who stays the same between albums is good old Damon Albarn, who plays 2D, the singer.

I would agree that more information on the special effects needs to be included, though.

Gorillaz isn't a fictional band, it's a real band composed of fictional characters. If it was fictional then it wouldn't be in the Top 40. Taylor

- Eh what? Run that past me again? How can a real band be Masked Avenger

Requested move[edit]

I vote we change this page from "Russel (Gorillaz)" to "Russel Hobbs". Thoughts? Opinions? Hate mail? I didn't do it. 00:21, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article has been renamed from Russel (Gorillaz) to Russel Hobbs as the result of a move request. --Stemonitis 09:19, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Xavier School?[edit]

Russel attended The Xavier School For Gifted Youngsters? Piltdown Yaren (talk) 21:18, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Name derivation[edit]

Presumably the name is a play on Russell Hobbs, a British electrical appliance manufacturer and brand well known in the UK. Does anybody have a good ref confirming this so that it can be added to the article? --Ef80 (talk) 16:52, 13 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
