Anti-drug activist[edit]

United Union, why was the mention of her anti-drug activism ("To the general public in Croatia, she is best known as an anti-drug activist.") removed from the intro?[1] GregorB (talk) 12:23, 1 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Because I thought that phrasing was wrong. She isn't "best know" as an anti-drug activist. This sentence could possibly be changed into something like: "Tomašić is also known as an anti-drug activist who exposed drug cartel that operated on Korčula." In the same edit you removed a reference to a Nacional article which said precisely that ("Javnosti ste najpoznatiji po svojim naporima u borbi protiv droge na Korčuli."). GregorB (talk) 10:03, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Journalists' observation can hardly be considered a reliable source. Besides, the article is from 2007, and a lot has changed in the meantime. Whan was the last time you heard anything about her anti-drug activism? Just because she was "best known" for that in 2007, doesn't mean that it's correct today. I would say that today she is "best known" for her work in the European Parliament which is very well covered in her article on HR Wikipedia. United Union (talk) 12:00, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Nacional is a reliable source. The change of public focus in the last 10 years is a valid argument, though - it's just that your edit summary could have reflected that, rather than referring to "unverified data" (?). GregorB (talk) 17:29, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
