What is a connieller?[edit]

"1 pair of ancient Thai battle boats with cannons at the bow, carrying army conniellers."

I can't find a definition for the word "connieller" anywhere, and the only uses of the word I found on the Internet seem to be in this context, sometimes even using this exact sentence. Could we find out what it means and replace this word with a less obscure one? Throughcracker (talk) 04:42, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It's present in the earliest version of the article, added by User:Thaimoss way back in 2006. I tracked down the source to the Thai Barges book[1], and the corresponding passage in Thai (page 102 in the linked version) mentions อำมาตย์ฝ่ายทหาร. อำมาตย์ ammat is a historical term for certain high-ranking government officials, and some dictionaries translate it as conseiller du roi in French. That's the closest thing I found of which "connieller" is probably a typo. I'll reach out to Thaimoss to see if they have any input, but given that it's been 16 years I wouldn't expect anyone to remember. --Paul_012 (talk) 06:43, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
