Parent company?

Does anybody know who exactly the parent company is now? According to the name it should be BRP, but for all I know it could be, at least partialy, Bombardier Inc. as well, as Rotax apparently build in the past or still builds rail cars and aero engines.--ospalh (talk) 11:55, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Historical

ROTAX FAMO 400/4 was used in the Felber TL400 made from about 1951-1954. It was a two-stroke 2 cylinder, 398 cc with 11kW/15PS Fromthehill (talk) 08:39, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

RWC (Radwerke St. Christophen, Tresnak & Co.) was a bicycle manufacturer in St. Christophen from 1949-1958. It made light motorcycles with a Rotax/Sachs 98 cc two-stroke engine. Fromthehill (talk) 09:05, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Type 504 variants

The type 504 seems to have come out in a number of variants,

• 504 Mil 481,3 cc 28 HP used for example in the Armstrong MT500
• 504 494 cc
• 504 FT (Flat Track) 494 cc
• 504 E MZ 494 cc 20kw/27HP

I'm just reading off the Rotax technical data spec sheets e.g. the 504 E MZ data I found on Technical data Db. 475 E Date Jan 1992 page 1. Not that easy to link to as these are found on various bike forums and obviously of dubious copyright. Yes but they need not have in-line references....unless you are saying that you plan to challenge a variant list of engine types as per Wikipedia:CHALLENGE#Anything_challenged_or_likely_to_be_challenged where it says "All quotations and any material challenged or likely to be challenged" ? Well the problem in the past is that people have posted engine models to this page that have turned out to be non-existent, some sort of sneaky vandalism I suppose. On WikiProject Aircraft which this partly falls under what we generally do is require refs unless the link to the engine article is blue in which case the refs will be found in the type article and needn't really be repeated here. This article has a lot of unverified information right now. - Ahunt (talk) 19:34, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

Rotax Kart Engines

I think there should be some mention of the Rotax kart engines, since for some people (like me) this is how we first heard of Rotax.

I am aware of the 256 twin 250cc two-stroke used in International Superkarts, the 257 single 250cc two-stroke used in National Superkarts (I've got one) and the 125cc engine used in Rotax Max karts. Rotax Max is a popular single engine racing class in the UK.

Many more engines were at one time listed in the article, but all lacked references and so eventually were removed. If reliable sources can be found then it can be put back in. - Ahunt (talk) 20:11, 13 July 2014 (UTC)
