History[edit]

In the 1950s, all or part of Ross Township's northern border was moved north into McCandless Township, in order to accommodate the new Northway Shopping Center, through which the border formerly passed. I know that because my house, built in 1971, is on land that was formerly part of McCandless. I actually collected something like $20 on my title insurance policy, when I got a tax bill from McCandless for taxes that somehow hadn't been paid on the empty land many years before. It would be great if somebody could find a reference about this border move, and add the facts to the article. Lou Sander (talk) 14:58, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
