Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be "speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance" for the following reasons: Ron Regé is a notable cartoonist and author whose work has been published in North America by McSweeny's, Drawn and Quarterly, Fantagraphics Books, and in other languages by numerous European imprints He was the cover artist for the first definitive collection of minicomics, an art movement of which Regé is considered a prominent figure. His illustrations have also appeared in The New York Times and the National Post, and Comics Journal has interviewed him three times in the past decade. As a visual artist, Regé's merits and publishing history warrant him a Wikipedia entry, supplemented by over two decades as a musician in the bands Lavender Diamond and Swirlies. Perhaps if he were to be considered simply as a musician, Regé would not meet Wikipedia's criteria as a person of note, but as a visual artist and author he does. --Morganfitzp (talk) 16:18, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
