Place of birth[edit]

The Ann Arbor News has it that he was born in D.C., not in Ann Arbor (see ref. in article). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.188.243.213 (talk) 19:35, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have a copy of his passport and his place of birth is Washington DC. He later moved to Davenport, Iowa and then to Ann Arbor, MI. Thanks.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nycentral13 (talkcontribs) 21:15, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why was link deleted?[edit]

Ron Asheton is a memeber of Iggy Pop's band, in the 70's and again since 2003. Why would a link to his band's site be deleted? He has his own page on the site.Cbensonburke (talk) 22:36, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Possible inspiration?[edit]

Possibly the inspiration for the character Lew Ashby on the U.S. television series Californication. Similar names, both were heavily involved in rock and roll music (Asheton as an artist, Ashby as an artist turned producer.--24.128.29.59 (talk) 03:02, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Middle name is incorrect[edit]

I have a copy of his passport and his middle name is Franklin and not Frank. Can someone please make this change? Thanks... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nycentral13 (talkcontribs) 21:13, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

External link suggestion: tribute to Ron Asheton[edit]

As an editor at Crawdaddy!, and to comply with COI guidelines, I am not posting the link to this article paying tribute to Ron Asheton. However, I would like to recommend it on its merits, and hope that an editor will find the time to examine the review and—if he or she sees fit—post it to the external links section. I appreciate your time. Crawdaddy! [1]

Erroneous citation ("beer-drinking gun nut")[edit]

The NYT article, "Ron Asheton: Quiet Punk," by Dan Kaufman makes no mention whatsoever of rock critic Nick Kent characterizing Ron as a a “beer-drinking gun nut." Furthermore, I cannot find this reference anywhere else, so if it was indeed said, someone will need to find proper attribution. For the time being, I'm deleting this claim.
