Title[edit]

It is a principle of Wikipedia that articles ought to be titled with whichever name is that by which the subject is best-known in English. While Roman de la Rose may be its title in scholarly circles, the name by which it is known in English is The Romance of the Rose. Surely the article title ought to reflect this. You see, I just don't think that's true: with the Internet and popular culture as they are, a whole slew of subjects one would have formerly considered extremely recondite are now at least being heard of, if not perhaps in a very elevated manner. The Romance of the Rose came up in the course of a discussion of The Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz on its Wikipedia Talk page; a discussion which took in both The Chymical Wedding, the novel by Lindsay Clark and the album The Chemical Wedding by Bruce Dickinson.
