Untitled[edit]

The bishopric of Cammin, extinct since 1650 by the latest possible definition, was not "restored as Diocese of Szczecin – Kamień". Rather, the diocese of Szczecin–Kamień was quite a new creation in 1972. Consequently, the sentences "1175: Established as Diocese of Kamień; 1556: Suppressed as Titular Episcopal See of Kamień" should be deleted here. --217.245.63.51 (talk) 22:01, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Really? Doesn't this diocese trace its roots to the early Pomeranian bishopric from 11th/12th centuries? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 04:17, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The diocese contains the old cathedral city of Cammin and is by and large on the territory of old Cammin and was erected as a reestablishment of the old diocese, which is evident from its name. Hence, it was revived. (In military terms, the new creation had "been awarded the tradition" of the old one, if you prefer.)--2001:A61:260D:6E01:A910:AF54:B3DD:BE73 (talk) 19:43, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
