martial expeditions[edit]

The term "martial expeditions" is such an extreme euphemism, it took me a second to realize what it meant. Can't we just say "Viking raid", or better yet, "rape and pillage adventure"? Martial expeditions sounds like a harmless activity high school kids might participate in to bolster their college applications. "Excuse me sir, would you buy a candy bar to help our class go on a martial expedition over the summer?" 173.49.91.134 (talk) 15:37, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
