Assessor comment: the sections below "List of Ordinaries of Liverpool" look odd. They should be better integrated or removed. GRBerry 14:59, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Province

The statement "The Archdiocese covers the entire North of England" is wrong. The Province of Liverpool covers the entire North of England. The Archdiocese of Liverpool is but one of the several dioceses comprised in the Province.

The Archdiocese of Liverpool page also states the following below the map of the province "The Province of Liverpool, also known as the Northern Province" Paul Gaskell (talk) 03:21, 17 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hundreds[edit]

The history contains the sentence "Initially it comprised the Hundreds of West Derby, Leyland, Fylde, Amounderness and Lonsdale in Lancashire and the Isle of Man." Fylde was part of Amounderness - was it ever a separate hundred? Peter E. James (talk) 02:31, 14 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

catholics as % of total population[edit]

The page states that catholics were 46% of the total population in 2004, since that year catholic number grew significantly to 580 thousand the page states furthermore. Any source for a more up to date catholic % number? Grsd (talk) 14:06, 6 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Animate[edit]

Great flexible Wiki update after our little chat today, Sarah, have done a Wiki external hyperlink to the current Animate site URL - quick work ! Paul Gaskell (talk) 02:08, 8 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the link per WP:ELNO guideline. It is not directly related to the article subject. If it is to be returned, it needs to be under an "External links" heading. Is Sarah someone connected with Animate Youth Ministries? Did she create the account Animate Youth Ministries (talk · contribs)? Elizium23 (talk) 05:22, 8 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Redundancy[edit]

The recent edits have added quite a bit of redundancy to the article which I feel is unnecessary. Yes, the territory of this diocese includes the Isle of Man which is not part of England. I do not feel it is worth belaboring that point everywhere possible. Elizium23 (talk) 20:39, 28 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's very simple, really: We can't write 'the Archdiocese of Liverpool is an archdiocese in England' because it's not true. It's an archdiocese that is partly in England and partly in the Isle of Man, and therefore we must write 'the Archdiocese of Liverpool is an archdiocese in England and the Isle of Man'. 85.166.79.218 (talk) 21:42, 28 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
