Film Noir?[edit]

The opening line of the article is problematic. The classic film noir era is generally considered to be 1940-1959. So, West would not have been known for "films noir in the 1920's and 30's." Perhaps we could say he was known for film noir-like movies. Or, we could write that he was adept at proto- noir movies. L. Thomas W. (talk) 15:49, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
