Controversy removal[edit]

I've removed this section. The one issue mentioned there doesn't seem especially significant now, and was sourced to a youtube clip. I searched for other sources, but didn't get far. Here's the article in question, the BBC editor's blog response, and a blog post on Nature. If somebody wants to reinstate with better sourcing hopefully these will help. shellac (talk) 09:15, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Daily Mail claim £15000 bung from UEA 19/11/2011[edit]

Can anyone explain the Daily Mail printing (on their web site) and then removing the article that Harrabin accepted a gift of £15000 from the University Of East Anglia. The reported gift being spent at the BBC promoting Global Warming. Harrabin - a well known as warming alarmist. Is there litigation in the pipeline? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.121.186.28 (talk) 15:11, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Who knows? Maybe it was simply untrue? It's like trying to fathom the motivation of random IP contributors: we can speculate at length but what's the point? shellac (talk) 16:03, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Seems to be back up. shellac (talk) 21:33, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy updated[edit]

I have reverted the deletion of the controversy section since it is well established that Harrabin was involved with others in influencing BBC policy on climate science. 217.43.96.114 (talk) 09:24, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Using a self published source, which is just not acceptable. You don't even mention Harrabin in what you've added. Please just a) explain how it relates to Harrabin and b) find decent source, which should be straightforward if it is indeed well established. If you think I'm being unreasonable feel free to raise this at WP:BLPN. shellac (talk) 12:18, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I can't see how Harrabin influencing how the BBC covers climate change is controversial. Surely correspondents' jobs is to give their input? 15:28, 14 January 2015 (UTC)

Clarified Mention of Harrabin's Law[edit]

Have added the actual text of Harrabin's Law to the section in which it is mentioned. I'd personally like to see it get its own section. However, because it doesn't seem to be in common use (which is a shame) that might be hard to justify. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.6.38.253 (talk) 09:31, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
