Well, there goes.[edit]

I tried to add some new stuff, clarify, and just fix up this page. I go to Rocky, and I didn't think the page was a very good representation of Rocky. I'm a choir member so I tried to fix up that section. I would have added some more in the "Notable competitions" section, but I don't know much about recent sporting or other competition honors. I'd love it if someone were to add in sporting information, etc. (Plus, a lot is really out of date...) Thanks. 67.176.42.147 (talk) 18:38, 12 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lack of Citations[edit]

Can someone help me out here? This page is absolutely littered with uncited information. Some of it is truthful, some is extraneous, but most of all, more than one person needs to fix this. It would be especially wonderful if whoever wrote those paragraphs about choirs and such in the first place would clean up their own mess. Mr. Colorado Basketball award winner notability[edit]

Editors have repeatedly added Franklin Ryk to the notable alumni list on the basis of having won the Mr. Colorado Basketball award. Five of the twenty two winners have biography articles in this Wikipedia. I think that's good evidence that we don't presume that every winner of the award is 'Wikipedia notable'. Our notability guideline for sports says in part: "High school and pre-high school athletes are notable only if they have received, as individuals, substantial and prolonged coverage that is (1) independent of the subject and (2) clearly goes beyond WP:ROUTINE coverage." The reference provided links to a website that lists Ryk as the award winner in 2002. It does mention that he was also the Colorado Gatorade Player of the Year in 2002. He was not drafted by the NBA and did not play for the NBA. The preferred process is to write a biography article for notable individuals before adding them to notable alumni list. When that isn't done references demonstrating notability should be provided. To meet the WP:YOUNGATH guideline we need more than a citation that confirms some high school state wide awards.
