I know you all love to post Calli Cox as a famous person from Robinson, IL but it is not appropriate. For those of you who are immature enough to continue to add her to the article, please spell her real name correctly. That way at least the information is correct until the next time I can come by and remove it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.207.197.211 (talkcontribs) 23:47, 1 January 2007‎

Who ever posted the above - "Wikipedia is not Censored" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:What_Wikipedia_is_not#Wikipedia_is_not_censored
Calli Cox is a famous person from Robinson and so thus should be included on the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Proales (talkcontribs) 14:30, 5 February 2007‎
Actually, my stance is that she is not famous and therefor does not need to be included under famous people from Robinson, IL. It has nothing to do with censorship. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.207.197.211 (talkcontribs) 22:26, 7 February 2007‎
She is famous, various well selling works, plenty of press (much of it from the U of Indiana work)
She is as famous as the Heath family in the eyes of todays public. Stop censoring. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.12.198.89 (talkcontribs) 14:22, 10 February 2007‎
Again, stop removing Calli Cox from Famous Residents. Your original post on this page indicates a moral objection to her listing, so your later claim of lack of fame is not slanted. Also, by looking up your IP, your likely a Robinson resident and so should therefore avoid making editorial judgments about the pages content. Continued editing of the page on this topic will necessitate the attention of a administrator. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Proales (talkcontribs) 07:16, 11 February 2007‎
Yep, I am from Robinson. In fact, I rode the school bus with "Calli Cox" all through school. I still see her around town at times. My original post has nothing to do with about her being an adult film actress. By me saying "those of you who are inmature" doesn't mean anything about being in a business intended for mature individuals. The fact is she is not famous. She's not even in the business anymore. You can look at current and former adult film stars hometown articles and barely find mention of any of them. If she is famous, Mike Rusczyk spent time in Robinson, IL. He's a professional skateboarder sponsored by Foundation. Is he listed here? No. Is he considered famous? No. The Heath candy bar is popular around the country and has been around nearly 100 years currently being manufactured by Hershey (and still made in Robinson, IL). How can you argue that the man behind the Heath bar is no more famous than a former adult film actress because "the eyes of todays public". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.207.197.211 (talkcontribs) 03:40, 15 February 2007‎
Your to close to the subject to be objectively making edits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.12.198.89 (talkcontribs) 12:55, 15 February 2007‎
I don't see the logic there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.207.197.211 (talkcontribs) 02:08, 16 February 2007‎
Stop making edits to this page. You are not objective, your biased by your personal relationships, your biased by living in the town. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.12.198.89 (talkcontribs) 20:17, 11 March 2007‎
Frankly, I haven't made an edit to the page for quite some time. Maybe other people don't quite fancy her as a famous resident either? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.207.197.211 (talkcontribs) 21:46, 18 March 2007‎
Simply because you don't "fancy" her being listed as a famous resident does not allow you to remove her from the page. Wikipedia is not a marketing tool for a hometown. If she resided there, and is notable under WP:BIO then she needs to be listed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.142.96.249 (talk) 20:12, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you to all of the admins/others that have helped protect this page from vandalism. Much appreciated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.142.96.249 (talk) 15:23, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Having trouble with people wanting to remove Calli Cox from Famous Residents again, censoring important notable people from being listed simply because you do not like their occupation is not in line Wikipedia standards. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.226.152.58 (talk) 02:21, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I find it quite appropriate and in the spirit of the guidelines put forth by Wikipedia on notable persons. Why exactly do you feel it is not appropriate within these guidelines? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.11.112.114 (talkcontribs) 08:47, 6 September 2010‎

Famous residents[edit]

If you're adding someone here, please follow WP:BIO, and if it's possibly contentious, be sure to cite it. Toddst1 (talk) 14:28, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Working on it right now...Calli Cox is notable because she tested the limits of regulations imposted by universities in her participation in filming a adult video in a dorm at Indiana University. The incident created enormous national press and lead her to become one of the most well known individuals practicing in the field. Follows WP:BIO, Creative professionals section.

I see you're working in good faith here. I'm not questioning that Calli Cox is notable. However, she may or may not work under that name. She might be someone who you are trying to slander. You need to either leave her (supposed) real name out or cite that they are the same person. Toddst1 (talk) 14:45, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Calli Cox born Kristy Gullett on February 26, 1977 is an American pornographic actress. She got to adult film through Playboy TV..." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.132.11.96 (talk) 13:36, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. It is cited so should stay in the article. There is a series of unsigned IP's that are removing it. Toddst1 (talk) 20:32, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Famous Residents, part 2[edit]

In light of the recent need for protection to be applied to this page I would like to start a new discussion about notable residents in Robinson, IL. Concensus at this time appears to favor the inclusion of Calli Cox. Please discuss opinions on this here.

From what I can gather in terms of Calli Cox: She was born in Robinson, IL but there is no evidence on her article stating that she resides here. I hope this helps resolve the dispute. Minimac (talk) 20:49, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Should all the notable people be removed then, as none of them reside there? (all those listed are in fact deceased) Some of them did not even spend notable portions of their life in their state, much less the town. I'm taking this in good faith, but the single unsigned IP continuously removing specific content regarding this (without explanation for the edits) stinks of personal bias. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.58.41.64 (talk) 22:43, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
"Famous" is the wrong criteria ... the section is (appropriately, and in-line with Wikipedia standards) "Notable people". The question of who is notable by Wikipedia standards is easily explained at WP:BIO, and Calli Cox clearly meets Wikipedia's existing criteria for defining a person as notable. The next question is if a reliable source is available that links the subject to the town, and the article about her does appear to satisfy the connection to the city. If she currently resides there or not isn't an issue, per WP:USCITY#Notable people. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 06:21, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
