Middle initial[edit]

An earlier version (and title) of this article gave his middle initial as "W", but Who Was Who in the American Revolution and other sources give it as "H". (Usually, it's not given at all.) Given that this article is uncited and has various factual errors about Kirkwood's military career, I thought it a safe bet to remove the "W" until someone with a few good sources comes along to sort it out. —Kevin Myers 21:53, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Verification[edit]

I removed the {{Refimprove}} tag dated March 2014 at the top of the article. I don't think the citations are complete, but there are 28 citations in this relatively short article. Going forward, it will be more helpful to tag specific claims that warrant a citation, rather than flagging the entire article. Canute (talk) 17:11, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
