Merge proposal[edit]

The licence for Connect (game) was transferred to Ravensburger, who published it essentially unchanged as Contact. In 1984 they added the Rivers, Roads & Rails theme to make it more appealing to children. Apart from the theme it's still the same game. --Hans Adler (talk) 16:34, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Surely Connect is a totally separate game. Ken Garland is a very important UK graphic designer and Connect is a fine demonstration of his work. Rivers, Roads & Rails has the same game play but a completely different, and inferior, design. Thus rendering teh fact that it was created by a graphic designer irrelevant.

They are not different "types" of games if they only differ in design. Certainly Three Men's Morris and Six Men's Morris are more different from each other and from Nine Men's Morris, where they are correctly treated. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and encyclopedias discuss closely related topics together. It hardly gets more closely related than gameplay X with design A and name N published by P, then gameplay X with design A and name M published by Q, then gameplay X with design B and name L published by Q.

Both articles are relatively small and would profit from being merged into a bigger article. If you start an article on Ken Garland (I am assuming he is notable, otherwise don't do it), then merging Connect (game) there would be another option. In fact, Connect should then be discussed in both places, stressing different aspects. --Hans Adler (talk) 16:36, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
