Troubled Waters (campaign)[edit]

This section says "Troubled Waters is an ongoing campaign supported by many residents in the town of Brigg."

  1. My first question would be, why this campaign is described here, rather than in the Brigg article?
  2. My second question is whether the upstream (south of Brigg) town name is Bishop Bridge or Bishopbridge?
  3. My third question is why is there no article on Bishop Bridge aka Bishopbridge?
  4. My fourth question, and this is actually a river question, does the River Rase join the Ancholome at Bishopbridge, or further downstream, and if downstream, where can it be said that the mouth of the River Rase is located?

I started out with the idea of creating an article for the River Rase, and now I am into questions about the downstream river and towns. Interesting, but I need help with creating an article on the River Rase. I numbered the questions to allow editors to easily pick an answer any specific question. --DThomsen8 (talk) 17:50, 12 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  1. The section on this campaign should be outtaken. I don't know who put it in, but it isn't a live thing in Brigg. I've heard nothing about it over the last few years.
  2. The place is called "Bishopbridge", but is not a town. It is a bridge, and a few houses.
  3. Because there's not much there. It would mostly be about the history of the bridge, which isn't worthy enough to be in an encyclopedia.
  4. At Bishopbridge. I don't know the exact configuration, but it is more or less at the bridge.

600 boats registered[edit]

Does anyone have a source for 600 registered boats on the Ancholme? Cumberlidge (Inland Waterways of Great Britain, 2009) states "over 200", but the jump from there to 600 seems unlikely. Bob1960evens (talk) 09:42, 2 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Calm waters[edit]

I have removed "Throughout the year, the water remains calm", since the river is subject to rapid changes in flow and level, and navigation is suspended after heavy rain due to the sluices being operated. Bob1960evens (talk) 09:09, 7 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Date for Brigg Bridge[edit]

Does anyone have a source for the date at which the A18 was diverted away from County Bridge and over the new Glanford Bridge on Ancholme Way, Brigg? I have drawn a blank so far. Bob1960evens (talk) 18:06, 14 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation[edit]

Per a scary knowledge of England and history, (or as good as most people with FSA status) this is with about 98% certainty /ˈænkɒlm/ - please confirm in the article itself...Write done when done.- Adam37 Talk 18:26, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
