Political views[edit]

Torn is said to be an active supporter of conservative causes but the article makes no mention of this. Is there any reason for this?

Reason: conventional code of silence regarding Hollywood conservatives. That which is not recognized does not exist.

That's pretty snarky and inappropriate. Wikipedia requires links to originally sourced material and isn't here for rumor mills. If there is credible evidence, then add a section and provide the links to back up whatever you add.

Coming Apart[edit]

I am amazed that this article does not mention the movie Coming Apart (1969). The movie is an unusual experiment that purports to be covertly filmed by the main character, a psychiatrist played by Torn, who installs a motion picture camera in his NY apartment living room. It depicts the comings and goings of several confused women love interests as the psychiatrist progressively undergoes personality disintegration, coming apart. The Man Who Fell To Earth[edit]

Education[edit]

Rip Torn went to Texas A&M University in addition to the University of Texas, so I think it should be reflected in the article. The following three links are just a few of many that point this out:

Also, there's some slight discrepancy as to what Rip Torn studied. Two of the articles say animal husbandry and another says acting. Torn would have attended the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas, not Texas A&M University, since it did not yet exist under that name when he was there.

Whether or not it was his major, he must have done some acting at the University of Texas, because I was issued a costume helmet from the UT drama department with his name in it in the early sixties. His head must be smaller than mine, since I had to pull out quite a bit of padding.

I changed the opening of the Film career section from "At Texas A&M" to "At University of Texas" because Ben Iden Payne was never at Texas A&M. Residence[edit]

The section "Alcohol–related incidents" states that he broke into the "Litchfield Bancorp branch office in Salisbury, Connecticut, where he maintains a residence." The structure of this sentence makes it sound as though he resides in the office building. Civil Rights[edit]

This article: <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baldwin%E2%80%93Kennedy_meeting indicates that Rip Torn was present at a meeting with the then Attorney General regarding civil rights in America. I can find no mention of this in the wikipedia article for him. Is his involvement/activism something that is well known/documented? Should it be included? Look Away[edit]
