Dirt bikes[edit]

Hello, This article could benefit from distinguishing more between on-road and off-road bikes. I presume the 1971 small-displacement machines were off-road? Fotoguzzi (talk) 05:56, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Content missing[edit]

I find this article very strange. There are six pictures of the 'component cars' which were inconsequential. There are no pictures of the classic scrambles bikes which made the company's reputation in the sixties. Where's the Matchless Metisse, the Triumph Metisse, or even the Jawa Metisse?Dean1954 (talk) 22:32, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly, it's important to emphasise WP:NOTGALLERY; second, images are very hard to source free of copyright restrictions (I haven't checked for any of those mentioned, this is just theoretical stuff). Wikipedia is a general purpose encylopedia, not a fanzone, nor does it purport to be an historical text-book. I didn't add the car pics, so have no opinion whether they're consequential, representative, or fairly described. I don't believe I've ever seen a Jawa Metisse and wouldn't know when (I am ashamed of myself), but I'll remember for the future.
If there's any content missing together with accompanying images, will you add them, Dean1954?--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 00:44, 3 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I just remembered there was another article - Métisse Motorcycles.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 01:40, 3 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for at. It poses the obvious question; shouldn't Metisse motorcycles'and Rickman motorcycles be combined, since they are the same thing? Dean1954 (talk) 18:58, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
