Did Richfield Start as Rio Grande?[edit]

According to this article http://aoghs.org/stocks/richfield-oil-corporation/ Richfield actually began as the Rio Grande Oil Company in El Paso Texas. Can someone clarify as the Wiki article introduces the Rio Grande as a company it merged with after emerging from receivership and this is very confusing. I have come across several articles mentioning the merger and also stating Richfield began as the Rio Grande Oil Company.
