Temperature[edit]

This article conflicts with a fact from Extremes on Earth.

Resolute, Nunavut says: It is also one of the coldest inhabited places in the world, with an average yearly temperature of -23°C.

Extremes on Earth says: Coldest Inhabited Place: Eureka, Nunavut, Canada Daily Average Temperature is −19.7 °C

Text doesn't match reference[edit]

The body text preceding note 12 doesn't match the information in the linked reference.
Text: "The government paid $10 million CAD to the survivors and their families, and gave a formal apology in 2008."
Link for note 12: (page 2) "But the government has yet to apologize."
This matches in information in the link from note 7.

I'm not sure exactly how to correct this, since this would be my first edit on Wikipedia, so I thought I'd post it in the discussion page first. OutOfBand (talk) 10:39, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

November extreme high temperature[edit]

+18.1°C in November is very close to the +18.3°C it says happened in July, and warmer than it says it went in August or June. Environment Canada, which supplies this data, also supplies historical weather data for Resolute. I looked up the month that it said it went up to +18.1°C—November 1991—but I saw that the high for that day was recorded as -18.1°C. See here. The data for each hour is here. Although November isn't entirely during the polar night, they go many Novembers without ever going above 0°C. Looking through their historical weather data, the warmest November temperature I could find was -2.8°C, which was in 1955, 1965 and 1968. - Wuffyz 18:41, 25 October 2011 (UTC)

It's another obvious error. In November 2009 I emailed Environment Canada about Pond Inlet (February and March) and Cambridge Bay (January). They admitted that the temperatures were in error and they would be fixed but no changes so far. CambridgeBayWeather (talk) 20:30, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Resolute or Resolute Bay?[edit]

What is the town's official name? I know most people colloquially call it "Resolute" but they do the same thing for Chesterfield Inlet, Rankin Inlet, and Pond Inlet. The flag and the seal of the hamlet say "Hamlet of Resolute Bay". Resolute Bay may be the name of the body of water next to the community but it seems, from indications, that the hamlet's official name is Resolute Bay, not just Resolute. I would suggest renaming the Wikipedia article.199.212.215.11 (talk) 21:56, 29 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
