The article implies he moved to West Germany after he got out of East German prison. Can anyone shed some light on this? --24.80.100.3 (talk) 17:09, 17 July 2010 (UTC) Also, lede says he was released by the Russians after 10 years in 1955, but a later section says he was sentenced to ten years in 1956, and had also been a teacher lecturer and headmaster before his conviction. I presume the lede is wrong (its statement is uncited) and will change his release date to 1965 (although I'm surprised the Russians would have imprisoned him as late as 1956).1812ahill (talk) 18:20, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Changed the lede date back. The 'After Colditz' section does not make sense as it says he was imprisoned in NKVD special camp Nr. 7 after the war. This camp closed in 1950, so he couldn't have been sentenced to serve in it in 1956, yet the previous paragraph says he was a teacher and lecturer after the war. This would have made him 65 by the time of his release according to the lede; a bit old to be starting a career as a lecturer. Confusion reigns.1812ahill (talk) 18:28, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Promotion[edit]

To the rank of Unteroffizier??? There is/was no such rank. Maybe Unterfeldwebel? --78.52.63.183 (talk) 23:33, 25 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
