Citation Run Amok[edit]

Under "Examples", the following sentence

The pain subsiding a little after it has gotten worse is more easily explained by regression towards the mean

does not need citation. It is a simple and obvious conclusion based on the facts of the article and the example given. I call this the citation ad nauseum fallacy. --KSnortum 20:07, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What about a situation where exceptional results have been produced for an extended period? Would it not be reasonable to expect them to continue?
