Project Rome[edit]

I am about the only member that I know of at this time activily working on this project. Hopefully I am incorrect about that. Anyway I am working on all articles about structures within the Roman Forum as well as articles releated to the life and death of Julius Caesar within the city of Rome.--Amadscientist (talk) 04:59, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Illustration[edit]

Several attempts to find an illustration that can meet fair use criteria have failed. So i am working on my own. It will be a large high resolution photoshop image based on the reseach of several different people and Universities. The one stumbling block i have encountered is that the most current information from the UCLA Digital recontruction shows the building with the pentagon enclosure as being built from conception and i cannot find anything to varify that. in fact all information shows that the emclosure was added after the temple of Caesar was built in front of the regia.--Amadscientist (talk) 06:05, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Julius Caesar[edit]

The article says "According to legend if the lances in the Shrine of Mars would ever start vibrating something terrible would happen." What legend would that be? Which writer said this? It is not mentioned by Suetonius in his list of prodigies that presaged Caesar's assassination. Is it in Plutarch or elsewhere? GermanicusCaesar (talk) 08:02, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Possible burning by the Gauls[edit]

The article reference 5 'Memoirs of the American Academy in Rome' says at page 72: 'In any case it would seem futile to attempt to deduce from the ruins any conclusion as to the destruction or preservation of the pontifical records during the Gallic invasion.' This is so indefinite that it does not seem worth noting. The actual reference for this is number 3, which does not have an internet link. What is actually said in reference 3?
