Why Called A City?[edit]

I don't understand. How can a place with only 247 people be called a city? And how can a place with that few people have its own high school? Even if 1/10 of them are high school age, which is high, that would mean 24 pupils. Given at least 5 different subjects (English, math, science, history, and a foreign language) that would mean a pupil-teacher ratio of less than 5:1. The article should say if this school still exists, if it's actually a regional (as opposed to municipal) high school, or whatever. Bostoner (talk) 20:47, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kansas state law provides that all municipalities are cities, regardless of their population. I don't know about the school. Nyttend (talk) 01:05, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The school is an attendance center that serves students from Kindergarten through Fifth grade. It's part of Unified School District (USD) #251, North Lyon County. It is still operational and will be enrolling students for the 2011-2012 academic year in August, according to the USD #251 website. Leslauber (talk) 14:37, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
