I replaced the Toy Trumpet graphic with staff notation that was a bit more legible and concise. I'm pretty sure the music falls under fair use, please notify me if there's any complaint.

Thanks. The old one was mine, and my degree of musical literacy is low.
I'm definitely not a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure it constitutes fair use because, applying the "four factors," the purpose is nonprofit and commentary, the work is published, the amount used is a small amount, and I don't believe that the circulation of this excerpt could reduce sales or compete with the original. I haven't found a good list of Scott's collaborations with Jim Henson, but that would probably make a good addition to the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.217.171.145 (talk) 20:33, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Electronium photograph, nominated for Speedy Deletion by ImageTagBot: This was a publicity photo, taken around 1970 by an unidentified photographer, for a device which was never commercially produced, invented by an inventor who is deceased, who was sole proprietor of a now long-defunct company. The image is in the public domain. Request that it be retained for its historical significance to the article on the late Raymond Scott, who built the device. Raymond Scott and his band appear on-screen in Nothing Sacred and Ali Baba Goes to Town.101.112.251.59 (talk) 13:33, 24 September 2012 (UTC) MatthewBG[reply]

This article, while it appears to be well-researched, is written in an essay style rather than encyclopedic WP:TONE. It relies heavily on three authors who stand to profit from their CDs of Scott's work. There was even a disallowed commercial sales link to Amazon, to help sell a book. WP:NOTADVERTISING. WP:COI. Many claims go uncited, and disallowed phrases like "as is commonly known" pepper the article. I've made some edits to bring the text up to policy and guideline standards, and I hope others will, too. Scott's tremendous accomplishments will continue to remain impressive if this article is written in a more neutral and less liner-notey tone. --Tenebrae (talk) 03:38, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
