Edits[edit]

Hello. I plan to expand on Pearl's biography, his view of eugenics to his eventual rejection of eugenics, and Edwin Bidwell Wilson's attack on him. Brendanjhong (talk) 17:16, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Peer Review[edit]

Hi Brendanjhong. This article is well written and contains very interesting information on Raymond Pearl. I think the organization of the article could be changed a bit, particularly the section on Wilson's Attack. As a reader, I think it would be helpful to read more about what Pearl generally did throughout his career before reading about a specific feud that he had. I personally would prefer to have the section on Wilson's Attack come after Scientific Interests, in order to allow the reader to get a better sense of Pearl's work. Something that I would be interested in reading more about is his attack on eugenics. What specific things did he see as the right things being done badly? Overall good job on the article! Hi! I'm also reviewing your article. I agree that there definitely needs more on Pearl's career before you talk about Wilson's Attack. In fact, I'm wondering whether the latter section can just be included under Career section. Also, I think in your explanation of constitution, "examining the soil on which a seed falls" needs to be clarified. The seed metaphor makes sense to students in our class but is not general knowledge, so you should might just want say that constitution focuses on the way different people's bodies' react when exposed to disease agents. Also, I see a few links to nonexistent pages but that should be easily fixed. Another minor suggestion: "made no dent in Pearl's infamous drinking habits". Overall you have a lot of good information with just a few small edits needed. BaiCaiXue (talk) 16:41, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Untitled[edit]

"Despite his apparent rejection of eugenics and its prejudices, Pearl maintained relatively good relations with key eugenicists and was never shy of expressing extremely snobbish and class-oriented views. He made many statements which have been interpreted as being anti-Semitic. On the other hand he worked for Black civil rights groups as an advisor."

how do we know?

Article is poorly written[edit]

NOTHING within the intro paragraph tells us the rationale for this man being 'notable.'Ryoung122 11:23, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Poorly written indeed. Not a word on the Pearl-Verhulst equation. 15:36, 11 February 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gytrash (talkcontribs)
