Some of it appears to be Jamie Foxx, some is Ray Charles. But then, my source is a little shaky. Not because it is IMdB, but because this particular recording of 46 tracks for the film is not available on CD. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0350258/soundtrack

I noticed under differences between factual events that in the film Ray composes Hit the Road Jack; in actuality, prior to his argument with Margie over her pregnancy, he mentions that Percy had just sent him some new music. You can hear him starting to play it using the Braille (or the musical notation equivalent) on top of his keyboard.

Charles was to see an opening of the completed film, but he died before it came out, only adding to his legacy.

I don't see how such was in bad taste. Just as my usage of "see" in the first sentence is metaphorical, so was its usage here. In fact, in the movie, at least, Mr. Charles often used "see" matter-of-factly, without any apparent sense at humor or irony. It's just a figure of speech. Orphaned references in Ray (film)[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Ray (film)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Plot[edit]

I've removed a reference to Ray Charles being deported from Canada as the film clearly establishes that he gives his concert in Canada and is arrested by U.S. Customs on his return.Dhodges (talk) 02:26, 14 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
