The sentences below have been deleted:

References state "the springs were closed in 1957”. Nowadays the springs only appear after extensive heavy rain. (referenced from a short Sydney Morning Herald Travel article on Rankins Springs)

The reasons for deletion: What does "the springs were closed in 1957” even mean? How do you close a natural spring emanating from a rocky range? And furthermore, the following sentence seems to contradict the concept of 'closing the springs', as they reappear “after extensive heavy rain”. I’ve searched publications on Trove in 1957 for any reference that might support the concept of ‘closing the springs’, but without success. So these sentences have been deleted because: (1) they are not supported by quality references,(2) taken together the sentences are contradictory, and (3) arguably the sentences are extremely tangential (if not irrelevant) to the article as a whole.
