Ghost town[edit]

The term 'ghost town' only clearly refers to places that contain substantial visible remains. In any case, former town or such is a more general term and completely adequate. No need to bandwagon on the popularity of the ghost town term (and make it harder to find articles on actual ghost towns). @Magnolia677:innotata 23:30, 13 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The discussion on ghost towns Magnolia linked in an edit summary came to the conclusion that the broader definition of 'ghost town' was just one person's view. Maybe not every 'ghost town' has 'visible remains' but not every extinct town that faded away with essentially no trace is a ghost town. Anyway, I stand by saying former/extinct town is preferable. —innotata 03:08, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
