Done Actually, both of you are wrong. It's not "vandalism", because Wikipedia defines vandalism as something done intentionally to make the encyclopedia worse (like adding curse words to the middle of articles, or deleting large chunks of text for "fun"). However, Jonathanwallace is about the underlying idea of keeping this in the article. The Calgary Herald article does properly source the information in this article; however, that information has no business in this article. Nothing in the Herald indicates this was Scurfield's fault; rather, it connects it with policy at the ski resort along with some sort of "protest" about the treatment of another worker. All of this is probably relevant to the Sunshine Village article (although there would have to be some discretion to make sure that this one event was notable enough to include in the company's article), but it's not notable enough to Scurfield's story. The only way we could include this information would be if we had a reliable source that clearly laid blame/responsibility on Scurfield, and even then the inclusion would be questionable. As such, I am removing the information from the article, per WP:BLP and WP:NPOV. I am also going to go check the Village article to see how the issue is being treated there). Semi-protection should not be used as a pre-emptive measure against vandalism that has not yet occurred, nor should it be used solely to prevent editing by anonymous and newly registered users. The semi-protection wasn't pre-emptive, it was made following repeated additions of unsourced information (detail that wasn't in the sources), and a blog/forum-type post. It's absolutely relevant. Mr. Scurfield's son was caught skiing out of bounds, the ski patrollers who caught him were subsequently fired. I've replaced the “vandalism”. First, I guarantee it's not my biography. Second, as you, yourself say, it's about Scurfield's son, and about the company Sunshine Village.
