Headings[edit]

I'm confused - should dab pages not have headings? The formatting clearly indicates separate headings (to us as human beings viewing it), but is this discouraged structurally? Leevclarke 00:29, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The manual of style for disamiguation (which I use as the guideline for editing disambiguation pages) states that "Section headers may be used on longer lists instead of, or in addition to, bold subject area headings, but using more than a single level, as on Aurora (disambiguation), is rarely necessary." I didn't think the list was long enough to warrant section headers at this time, it might be though. I mainly reverted because of the removal of the title styling in the names of songs and films as per WP:MOS-T and MoS:DP. If you want to change to headers thats fine, but please don't remove the styling of titles in disambiguation pages. dissolve ^talk 00:44, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Songs[edit]

Where do we draw the line with songs? Obviously, if the song has it's own article, it should stay. I'm thinking if the song was realsed as a single, it could remain on a DAB page with a link to the album, or artist. However, if it's simply a track on an album, I don't think it's a likely target for a DAB search. A DAB page is not merely a collection of links.

Either that, or the song list is long enough that it should be moved to it's own DAB page (currently a redirect to this one), Rain (song). Hoof Hearted (talk) 16:32, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Logic and User Friendliness[edit]

I am new to editing - this is my first try - and I hope others will find it OK.

I saw a logic problem: "Groups" of people (musical bands) were listed under the "Music" category instead of under "People. It seems to me that "Albums" and "Songs" fit into the "Music" category and that groups of musicians are "People". Also, from a user friendly browsability standpoint, it seemed best to have individual musicians and musical groups near each other visually on the page. The way it was before, musical groups were near the top and individual musicians were near the bottom of the page. Keeping the majority of users in mind, I was guessing that most of them would come to this page looking for entertainment topics (singers, bands, actors, films, music) so keeping those categories close together near the top of the page seemed more user friendly.

I also moved "Albums" above "Songs" because a top-down hierarchy seemed more logical. "Albums" (as a container for songs) is a larger/broader category than songs. "Albums" also seemed to be somewhat "lost" further down the page along with all the other topics that come after the long list of songs.
