line upgrades[edit]

Please note - the upgrades to the lines are clearways - they are not intended to have 5 running lines and there will be lots of different formations of stopping patterns as we see now after Clearways is finished. This article seems to indicate that some lines will be scrapped - that's not true (apart from Cumberland Line perhaps...) (JROBBO 12:55, 22 May 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Just remember that while we know that the plan is going ahead, that a lot of this is speculation so we don'r really know what the future is; unless you're somehow involved with the project... Harryboyles
Cityrail made it quite clear that the project is to create five indenpendent routes to feed the lines through the CBD. The lines are grouped and to share one of the five corridors through the CBD. These corridors do not share as much infrastructure as now. In this way, the interactions between different group of lines are minimised. In the project page, Cityrail is still using names like Carlingford Line, East Hills Line, North Shore Line, Inner West Line and South Line, etc.129.94.6.30

is it really appropriate to have liberal party press releases? shouldn't an independent news article be quoted instead for impartiality's sake? i'm happy to stand corrected if i'm wrong, it just seems a bit weird and inappropriate Dibo 02:45, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's an external link - it's not quoted in the article. (JROBBO 03:17, 2 June 2006 (UTC))[reply]
i understand that, and my question stands Dibo 08:07, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It should, but, quite frankly, the media in general isn't interested in the Clearways Project - its much easier (and it sells more papers) to write about how 'shocking' CityRail is. Thus it's either Liberal sources or Labor sources (which would be more accurate, but would have a POV aswell), and I would assume that the CityRail website on the project has a slant towards Labor; thus presenting two sides to the story. Oh, BTW - budget overruns by governments (doesn't matter which party is in power) is pretty much the norm' anyway :) Orbitalwow 13:12, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Success?[edit]

Any information evaluating whether the program improved running time?--Jack Upland (talk) 00:02, 3 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
