St Mary’s Church - a separate page should be created — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C7:9796:2F00:B129:9047:BC61:9371 (talk) 14:19, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Waterend[edit]

I noticed that Waterend, Buckinghamshire redirects here but there is no mention of Waterend in this page. Is it the same place as Water End? AnemoneProjectors 19:09, 9 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I worked it out - they were the same, but I moved Water End over the Waterend, Buckinghamshire redirect and made a disambiguation page. anemoneprojectors 10:47, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"The City"?[edit]

There is currently a redirect at The City, Buckinghamshire, and a link at the disambiguation page The City, pointing to this article, but other than a brief mention of "the residential area known as the city" (lower-case), there is no explanation in this article of this unusual name, and no reference supporting it.

Given that in England, "city" has a very specific meaning, it is very surprising to see it applied to a village (or, seemingly, part of a village). Does anyone have any reliable source for this actually being a recognised place name, or is it just a fanciful insertion by a proud resident? - IMSoP (talk) 15:31, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
