Disambiguation date[edit]

The Empress of Britain (1956) was launched June 22, 1955. The ship's completion date or the date it went into service was March 1956.

The Miramar Ship Index which is sponsored by the New Zealand Ship & Marine Society in Wellington, New Zealand has selected the service date as an identifier for this ship in all its various incarnations -- see here.

I do not know why this date was selected rather than the launch date -- but this would seem to be noteworthy regardless of what I understand or do not understand.

A separate and quite distinct question troubles me. Why does this Wikipedia article not include the RMS prefix which is commonly associated with other ships in what was at one time called the "Empress Fleet"? --Tenmei (talk) 17:12, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

infobox error?[edit]

Why does the list of names in the infobox not include "Peace Boat"? The text makes it clear that she operated, quote, "under the name Peace Boat." Elsquared (talk) 22:36, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
