Wall Street, the movie.[edit]

I took this out of the article:

A similar storyline, about a Gatsby-like character (Brant) and his young admirer (Winans), drove Oliver Stone's hit 1987 film, Wall Street, which won Michael Douglas an Academy Award for his portrayal of a rapacious financier named Gordon Gekko.

Is there any evidence of any actual connection, like inspiration? It seems like just a coincidence to me. SnowFire 02:00, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Link to wrong Supreme Court case[edit]

The link to: "Carpenter v. United States"

in "Winans' conviction for violating securities law was affirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1987 as Carpenter v. United States ..."

links to the wrong "Carpenter v. United States", probably because there are multiple cases with the same name.

It should link to something like: "Carpenter v. United States, 484 U.S. 19 (1987)". Or, maybe it should not be a link at all?

How can we fix this?

Thanks, WikipediaSq (talk) 05:41, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Casual reader here stopping in to say it got me, too. No need to have a link if Wikipedia doesn't have a page for that case. I ended up following the citation to read the case on Justia. 2603:3012:D00:9C00:B96F:6C04:BE3B:D5EC (talk) 00:35, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
