What must have prompted the movement![edit]

For Gandhi to take up such an unilateral call, which it may be remembered was not supported by most of the other Indian political parties can be attributed to his keen sense of political pragmatism. For, he more or less used such diversionary tactics to demolish other social and political organisations and leaders in contemporary India, by entering India after his failed attempts to achieve leadership in other nations, by a very deeply thought out political plan, that of Satyagraha, Ramarajya, ahimsa, and such things, which the media was cleverly made to give much attention. Similarly:

The timing of his call for Quit India is more or less coincident with the numerous scandals that had come out in the Delhi media of that time, with regard to how he used females in his ashram. With this call, most of the talk in this regard may have disappeared, with the rumblings of the Second World War in the background. He again went back to sainthood, as he again came into the focus of British actions. For, the British imprisoned him at the AgaKhan Palace. In this Wikipedia article, it might be prudent to mention these things also. --Ved from Victoria Institutions (talk) 07:34, 15 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
