Untitled[edit]

Some of the most recent edit looks to have reincluded some POV statements ("powerful" tag editing, etc) and may be from a developer. Anyone with more experience want to tackle integrating this with what came before? -- nae'blis _(talk) 16:03, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The only possibly POV thing about that edit was the inclusion of the word "Powerful". It's hardly a big deal to remove that word, surely? - Pupilar - 18:48, 13 June 2006 (GMT)

Fair use rationale for Image:QuintessentialPlayerscreen.jpg[edit]

Image:QuintessentialPlayerscreen.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Support[edit]

It should be noted that product support seems to be non-existent. For 5 days now:

1. It is impossible to register for the forum or send a message using the contact form since there are problems with the server because Capcha image verification does not work.

2. Forums are full of messages from people advertising/selling things - nothing to do with the product.

3. Headings on forum lists indicate that the "Last Post" is today, where in fact there has been no post today at all.
4. There is a reference to a Help file, which in fact does not exist.

5. The bug reporting function does not work.

I agree. The project is dead by all accounts. The most recent software release is three years old, and that release had taken ages to appear even then. Nobody has heard or seen the project developer for almost as long, and the website has been derelict for well over two years now. The forums are not even accessible from the website anymore, and they've been flooded with spam just as Tony says. If nobody disagrees within the next two weeks, I'll change the article to reflect that the project is no longer active. It's tragic, really. QMP was easily one of the best available media players in its time and outperformed the top commercial products in several ways. To this day, I have yet to see anything that comes even close to the versatility and usability of its tag editing interface. Sadly, there are a number of game-stopping bugs in the current release, and with the developer having vanished and the source being proprietary, there's no hope for seeing it come to life once more. --Taramul (talk) 13:42, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
