I did the writing task today. I have every right to post the topic. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hcollin (talkcontribs) 10:51, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, you didn't. The QCS must be sat on the same day nationwide to prevent this sort of thing entirely. You haven't done it.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.206.159.10 (talkcontribs)
I've removed it anyway as it was unsupported by independent reliable references. -- zzuuzz (talk) 12:33, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I did it! I swear. Don't try and tell me I haven't done it when I have. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hcollin (talkcontribs) 23:09, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Im pretty sure you mean STATEwide. And yes, the topic was flightHuhConfused (talk) 06:25, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for over reverting[edit]

I had thought that all of the years info was vandalism, because there was no title to the section. I see the purpose now. Nonetheless...seriously, kids, vandalism isn't cool.  :( Qwyrxian (talk) 10:22, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

2010 - Flight[edit]

Not exactly a reliable source, but here is a picture of the stimulus piece of the 2010 writing task which was sat today: here. The central theme was flight. It appears JamesR has already added it. Thanks, Stickee (talk) 05:07, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I just reverted the 2010 topic, then I undid my revert. To me, it's absolutely 100% clear that this does not belong in the article, because we neither have nor can we get a reliable source. To me WP:V is clear--if information is unverifiable, it doesn't belong. But I don't want to fight about it, so I self-reverted. Qwyrxian (talk) 05:24, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I believe this counts as a reliable source, it's from the QSA (Queensland Studies Authority). It's retrospective of each past topic from 2009 to 2001. Of course it doesn't verify the 2010 or 2000 topics, but they're right - a source is needed for those last two though. http://www.qsa.qld.edu.au/2322.html Montymintypie (talk) 05:41, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ask any year 12, it was Flight —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.165.70.65 (talk) 07:16, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It was definitely flight, although I do understand we do not have a relevant source at this time. When QSA releases the test papers for this year, I believe that can be used, but until then we are going on simple fact. — JamesR (talk) 09:28, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actual reliable source now found. Third paragraph of this article states the central theme for the 2010 QCST writing task. --Stickee (talk) 04:53, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

2011 QCS Test[edit]

The 2011 QCS writing task theme was 'gold' - it can be updated on the main page — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.45.105.151 (talk) 01:36, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on 3 September 2012[edit]

2012 QCS writing task is Water. Devilinpants (talk) 09:01, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can you give a link to a reference to confirm this? We have had some bogus contributions up till now. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:13, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on 3 September 2013[edit]

The writing task topic for 2013 should be 'Things Unknown', not 'The Unknown'. Jcsnowy (talk) 07:47, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Someone add this as a reference please[edit]

 Done

I DID THE 2014 QCS[edit]

Hey, I've already tried to submit a couple of times, however each time I tried to submit this year's topic "Who Cares?", the concept had been removed due to suspected vandalism. I definitely know it was "Who Cares?" Because I sat the damned thing, so can someone with whatever elevated privileges that doesn't have to answer to robots and over-active users post it? Or at least try, and receive the same annoying notice until something gets through.

"* 2014 - Who Cares?"

~~polarbear_ed — Preceding unsigned comment added by Polarbear ed (talkcontribs) 12:46, 3 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The problem here, is that:
  • The topic (Who Cares?) looks like vandalism; it's the sort of thing a vandal might write.
  • There is no reference - it's not on http://www.qcaa.qld.edu.au/2322.html yet - and I expect probably won't be for a while (perhaps not even until next year).
However, I'm going to assume good faith and restore the 2014 topic.
@Polarbear ed: could you please provide some information about where one might - hypothetically - be able see that topic. Something online would be good (so we can verify it), but it's not absolutely necessary. Do you have a copy of the 2014 equivalent of the previous references, eg [1]? If so we can add that as a reference, even though it is not online. Do you have a copy of something with the topic written on it, that you could cite? Eg a "test paper". (I've no idea what the format of these things is - and copies of past years' testpapers are not freely downloadable - one has to pay for them [2].) Mitch Ames (talk) 12:10, 4 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Google "QCS writing task 2014 who cares" turns up a few mentions, eg [3][4][5]. These would not be considered reliable sources, but they at least add support to Polarbear ed's assertion as to the topic. Mitch Ames (talk) 12:26, 4 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
