Year established needs fixing[edit]

The text says 1949, the infobox says 1942. --Furlong 04:27, 4 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

1942 is correct according to the school webpage. Peregrine981 03:25, 2 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

"Criticism"[edit]

Even though the school has accumulated a vast amount of rich history, it cannot be helped that as the school meets its untimely end, corruption within the teaching facilities spring forward. There have been a few incidents where teachers have abused their power and marked down students based solely on a personal prejudice. More so, many marking rubrics now utilized by the school are completely subjective, thereby eliminating the need for a rubric. Marking rubrics handed out to students now contain criteria such as "5, Excellent organization, 4, Very good organization, 3, Good organization, etc..." Queen Elizabeth High School does not allow student-based evaluations, because it may stir unrest amongst the staff. While the effort to keep the atmosphere calm is notable, it is being done at the price of an education. Teachers who, by the majority of students, are believed to be inapt mentors still retain their position within the schools. As a result, in many classes, students are being under educated. There is a lingering fear that even the brighter, more capable students will be overlooked by prestigious universities who know of Queen Elizabeth High School's poor teaching conditions. However, there are many notable staff who teach with enthusiasm and skill.

This passage has been added, but I don't think it adds much to the article. This "criticism" could be applied almost any school. Unless someone can point to this being a particular problem at the school I will edit out much of this, especially the first paragraph.Peregrine981 03:22, 2 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
