Quality rating[edit]

I changed the quality rating on this article from class=C to 'start' today, because it presently has just 5 references, and there are a few spots in the article where the translation from French needs to be refined. Interesting article, though! PKT(alk) 19:48, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

First tramway (1865 to 1948)[edit]

The article effectively contains two separate topics: First tramway (1865 to 1948) and Light rail system, with the former dominating the latter in appearance and prominance. Thus, I propose splitting Quebec City Tramway#Quebec City Tramway (1865–1948) into a new, separate article called Quebec City Tramway (1865–1948) so that:

I don't think this will be controversial other than perhaps the name "Quebec City Tramway (1865–1948)"; I would prefer that the two names appear together is a search rather than using "Former Quebec City Tramway". @Blaixx, Julius177, Judicieux, Thehqazi, Mvarnold, and Kazuha1029: Please advise if there are any objections. I think the split makes sense. My only question is if "Quebec City Tramway" was the proper name of the historical system? Otherwise Quebec City tramway (1865–1948) would be the better title. BLAIXX 00:36, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I also agree with the split. I can't think of a better name than the one you've chosen. However I'd like to note how as it stands with the existing setup and material, how poorly-integrated railway history articles on Quebec City (e.g. the Old Quebec Funicular) are in terms of not being linked to in more general Quebec City articles, and how for example History of Quebec City has no mentions of railways whatsoever. So I think while it's fair to split these articles as they're a bit of a confusing Frankenstein of material, we should also try to make sure with the proliferation of separate-topic articles (as opposed to a more general "rail transport in Quebec City" article for example), there's adequate incorporation of that into more general articles as well. Done. Split as Quebec City tramway (1865–1948) with a small "t" as suggested by User_talk:Blaixx. TheTrolleyPole (talk) 13:39, 8 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
