- Was this why you added [ŋ] to the Thaana article? The [ŋ]s translated here are actually phonetically wrong so I just deleted them. The actual sound is somewhat like a glottal stop. In fact the the sound of some of the letters with sukun(the diacritic) are unusual. 'ށް' and 'އް' are basically equivalent. 'ން' is [ŋ]. 'ތް' sounds a bit like [ɪ].
