Issa Asad, President, CEO, and Co-Founder of Q-link fatally runs over groundskeeper over $65[edit]

Considering the header of this talk page touts and praises the founder's positive reputation and experience, in order to get a NPOV on this individual I believe it's important to point out that in 2014 he fatally ran over a groundskeeper in his Mercedes Benz over an argument regarding the debt of $65 dollars.

http://www.local10.com/news/issa-asad-fatally-runs-over-groundskeeper-with-car-bso-says

I'm unsure whether this warrants actual inclusion in the article, but I felt it was necessary to at least point it out on this talk page.

Upon further review it seems an entire previous discussion regarding this was removed from the talk page, it seems someone is trying to suppress this information. Shortly after after the same IP that removed said information posted block of text on the top of the talk page that reads as a personal advertisement of Issa Asad's "positive" experience and merits. It appears as if someone is trying to suppress the negative information and use this talk page as a personal advertisement.

I'm unable to automatically undo his edit to the talk page and restore the previous talk discussion automatically, but I'll manually do so following this post. 71.34.105.146 (talk) 07:52, 4 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Arrest of founder=[edit]

The recent addition of material concerning the arrest of the founder had been undone (again). The original addition clearly violated wp:NPOV and the later additions, while much more neutral seem to me to be questionable on BLP grounds:

  • There's no source to show that the founder of the company is the person charged. The name is the same, and he may well be the same person, but we don't know that.
  • If the founder is the person charged, is he still involved in the company? If not I don't see how this needs to be in an article on the company.
  • If the founder of the company is the person charged (and is still involved in the company) then we need to consider WP:BLPCRIME. He does not seem to be particularly notable, and I think WP:BLPCRIME should apply. Meters (talk) 22:13, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • So you erase the constructive comments and question that I wrote in the Talk page, only to ban me for attempting to then include this material in the edit page?
This is why wikipedia is a stagnant backwater. It's run by bullies like yourself and the person who undid MY ADDITION more than 3 times (is he banned too? I doubt it!) who immediately step in to remove any constructive additions from anyone who isn't part of your club.
This man murdered another human being in cold blood in front of numerous witnesses by running over his head and torso two separate times. It is documented that he is the same man that runs Q Link.
This is well documented in various sources and because of his absolutely central role in the company in question, this fact will, undoubtedly have a direct and material impact on this company's performance.
Do you have any other Orwellian tricks up your sleeve to keep the truth from coming out about this man and his reprehensible actions? Do you have a stake in this company? What's your dog in this fight?
Because my only dog is to let the truth out that this company was led by an irresponsible and reckless man, who because of his childish actions, has quite possibly run the company aground.
Thanks for demonstrating why I choose to live in the real world instead of engaging in onanistic power games on the internet. This is the last time I try to add anything to this site.
All I wanted was for the truth to be out about this man and his actions and the effects his actions will have on the company and all the people who work there. They deserve to know. 67.177.251.241 (talk) 22:23, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see anything in the history of this talk page to show that anything has been removed. I certainly have not removed any of your talk page edits here or anywhere else.
You are not banned. You were given a 3RR warning and asked to discuss the edits here. Or did you make edits under a different account/IP?
No one editor has reverted you more than twice, so I didn't warn any others.
I have nothing to do with the company and no interest in it. I'm just concerned that the material may not belong in the article. If you can convince me that it doesn't violate WP:BLPCRIME and provide a source to show that the person charged is the founder of the company and that he is still involved in the company then I have no objection to the material being in the article. I'm posting here to let you guys know I've manually restored this discussion as it was removed by 50.154.239.174, and I removed the block of advertising text placed at the top of this talk page by the same IP.

It's rather telling that the same IP who tried to censor the talk page from negative information about Issa Asad also tried to actively promote Issa Asad's positive reputation on the top of this talk page.

Removing and censoring sourced information about how the man was involved in a homicide and then turning around to actively promote him as a tech genius is not NPOV. 71.34.105.146 (talk) 08:06, 4 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Oh also, as one of the previous posters mentioned it needed to be sourced that this Issa Asad was the same and still owns Q-Link.

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/fl-davie-man-charged-folo-20140722-story.html

^ References him as the same Issa Asad who owns Q-link

http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/ceo-of-floridas-q-link-wireless-issa-asad-releases-education-series-about-the-lifeline-program-300022602.html

^ Shows that he's currently still involved in their operations

There are various sources that report on the arrest, but none I can find that discuss continuing developments or a trial. Nicmart (talk) 20:37, 15 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Inaccurate assertion[edit]

The article says, "In October 2019, Q Link Wireless was named the fastest-growing tech company in the United States." I could not find that in the company's press release that's footnoted. It's also ridiculous to use a company's news release as a source. It's like proving the accuracy of the Bible by quoting the Bible.

Todd (talk) Todd (talk) 04:19, 19 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah it's not an appropriate citation at all. On top of that, it doesn't even appear to support the specific claim, since it was posted in 2018 rather than 2019, and it claims Q Link was ranked as "a Top Telecommunications Company for its growth" rather than the fastest growing tech company.
Looking here (2019) and checking Industry -> Telecommunications, Q Link doesn't even show up. Doing the same for 2018, Q Link shows up as 13th place. I don't think that is notable enough to be included here.
I'll remove the sentence for now, if anyone objects then we can discuss here.
