No info[edit]

There is little information about this ghost town. I first heard about it many years ago when I read the California state guide prepared during President Franklin Roosevelt's Federal Writers Project, part of the New Deal legislation he supported. I have seen the site of the town and hope to take some photographs in 2007, when I visit the Bay Area. Sallyrob 22:58, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I returned to the site on May 17, 2008, and was unable to locate either the cemetery or the remains of the school house. I did take a couple of photos on Purissima Creek Road, which show the dense overgrowth that has obliterated foundations and hidden the cemetery and the school. One of the photos will be posted soon. Additional research has uncovered more details about Purissima and it is now clear that the village began to die after important leaders in the community died. The isolation of the village and the failure of the southern San Mateo County coastline to develop before World War II further led to Purissima's demise.
